KABR, Kushner ink leases with two health care tenants at Journal Square building
The owners of a historic office building in Jersey City have attracted two new tenants, following the recent completion of a $5 million renovation of the 16-story property.
In a news release, The KABR Group and Kushner Cos. said LabCorp and Ocean Audiology have joined the roster of health care users and professional services at 26 Journal Square. The medical testing giant signed a five-year, 2,380-square-foot lease, while the latter tenant, a hearing and balance practice, committed to 864 square feet for seven years.
“Our $5 million capital investment and tenant roster continue to attract a broad range of medical community partners wanting a central location with on-site parking and PATH train across the street,” said Michael Goldstein, KABR Group’s chief operating officer. “We are pleased the medical community has been attracted by renovations that immediately make a statement when patients come through our lobby doors. 26 Journal Square does have move-in ready, fully furnished space for prospective tenants looking for prebuilt office space.”
Located in the historic Journal Square neighborhood, the updated building features a redesigned lobby highlighting the original Beaux Arts design, renovated elevator cabs with disinfecting technology, a new high-efficiency cooling tower and other improvements, according to a news release. The property also has several ground-floor retailers and sits within a burgeoning neighborhood that has seen a host of redevelopment over the past decade.
